Objective Setting up effective monitoring and supervision systems is imperative achieving the intend project outcomes. Traditional M&E mechanisms mostly rely on quantitative indicators measured at periodic intervals and may not fully take into account the perspective of project beneficiaries.Monitoring of the implementation on processes in Bank supported projects by non-state actors can fill the gap of information not provided by traditional M&E mechanisms and provide BWDB, beneficiaries and service providers with better understanding of CEIP's effectiveness especially when it comes to resettlement issues and the beneficiaries receiving their entitlements. The objective of the Third Party Monitoring is to focus on improving the resource use through utilization of community knowledge and presence.Community feedback can be effective in addressing failures in service delivery, spotting contractor irregularities or in identifying procurement problems. This Third Party Monitoring firm is envisioned to continuously monito project activities and providing feedback to the government and the implementing agency on the project's performance. Objective Bangladesh coastal region is experiencing fast-paced change due to the changes in river morphology, fluvial processes, human intervention, and climate change. These changes are subject to a multitude of complex natural phenomena most of which are yet to be fully understood. Moreover, a program to extend the current monitoring systems of the Coastal region has been deemed essential to generate data, information, and new knowledge for assessing the effects of multiple drivers on the coastal zone environment to guide future design, rehabilitation, and improvement requirements. In the above backdrop, to bridge this knowledge gap, CEIP-Is currently supporting a comprehensive monitoring and morphological assessment of the Bangladesh Delta, known as β€˜Long Term Monitoring, Research and Analysis of Bangladesh Coastal Zone(Sustainable Polders Adapted Coastal Dynamics)’. The study has been designed to find well -grounded answers to several issues on which further research might be required and so, the findings may be incorporated in the following phases of the CEIP. Notable among the issues are geomorphological attributes, the process of land subsidence; the impact of tectonic effects, erosion rates; Sea Level Rise; tidal dynamics changes; river cross -section changes, and meander migration; shoreline changes; increase in salinity and its impact, etc. It is envisioned that multiple lessons will be drawn from the studies and it will help in developing a strong monitoring mechanism for evaluation performances of the reconstructed polders that will be constructed in phases.
